Puppies & Prosecco: The Paw-fect Pairing

Puppies & Prosecco: The Paw-fect Pairing

Because Some Things Just Belong Together, Like Cheese and Wine

Pop the cork, my friends! This click-bait is a topic that’s as delightful as a puppy’s yawn and as effervescent as a glass of prosecco: the perfect pairing of these two life-affirming joys.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. “Puppies? Prosecco? Isn’t that a bit…mismatched?”

Not according to the Kimpton Hotel!

They took this concept to a whole new level, introducing a “Puppies + Prosecco” package for National Dog Day. Imagine: you check into your room, and voila! A basket of adorable puppies and a chilled bottle of prosecco arrive at your door. Apparently this service was so wildly popular it practically barked off the shelves!

Is this cheesey? oh yes. They should include some cheese for the dogs.

Puppies are pure, unadulterated joy. They’re fluffy bundles of energy, mischief, and unconditional love, capable of melting even the coldest heart with a single tail wag.

And Prosecco? Well, it’s the liquid embodiment of celebration. It’s bubbly, it’s bright, and it has the uncanny ability to make any occasion feel just a little bit more special.

So why wouldn’t they be a match made in heaven?

Picture this: You’re curled up on the couch, a mischievous puppy snuggled in your lap, a chilled glass of prosecco sparkling in your hand. The puppy’s soft fur tickles your nose as you take a sip, the bubbles dancing on your tongue. It’s pure bliss.

But wait, there’s more!

Puppies and prosecco are also the perfect companions for all sorts of adventures. Imagine a picnic in the park, your furry friend frolicking in the sunshine while you sip prosecco and soak up the rays. Or a cozy evening at home, playing fetch with your pup while enjoying a glass of bubbly with your favorite humans. The possibilities are endless!

But what about the Cheese?

According to the Blue Cross (who seem legit)

“It’s best to stay on the safe side and keep your pet away from blue cheeses such as stilton. The fungus used to make these cheeses produces a substance called roquefortine C, which dogs can be sensitive to. This substance can cause vomiting, diarrhoea, high temperatures and even seizures. The risk of these symptoms is higher if your dog eats a large amount of cheese. If you notice any of these signs after your dog eats blue cheese, call your vet urgently.”

However I have only just found this out, and have been feeding my dog Cusco blue cheese (and all other cheeses, cheese rind and cooked cheese) for years to apparently no harmful affect unless you are a rabbit. She runs like the wind. So I’m taking that advice with a saucer of Prosecco.

Curled up in my office – we’ve just turned on the heating for the first day this Autumn.

So next time you’re looking for a little pick-me-up, remember: Puppies and prosecco are the perfect recipe for a happy heart and a wagging tail.

Cheers to that!
